Plum dumplings

The photo shows plum dumplings. Plum dumplings were usually made in late summer or early autumn when the plums were ripe, and the potatoes in the cellars were great for dough as they were already slightly softened and wrinkled. Plums were also soaked and cooked as compote or first dried and thus preserved then used for dumplings.
