10. septembra 1967 je bila v samostanski cerkvi sv. Lenarta ustanovljena župnija, ki obsega del Novega mesta in okolico. V župniji so štiri podružnice: Gotna vas, Smolenja vas, Veliki Slatnik in Potov Vrh.
