Krstni list Mateja Slekovca, pisan v nemški gotici, je bil izdan leta 1860. Iz njega izvemo, da je bil Matej Slekovec rojen 6. avgusta 1846 očetu Jožefu Slekovcu, po poklicu kmetu, in materi Mariji, rojeni Kramberger, satnujočima v Kunovi, hišna številka 29.
