Jakob Aljaž je v Vratih postavil prvo leseno kočo, ki so jo odprli 9. julija 1896, prvi Aljažev dom pa so odprli 7. avgusta 1904. Dom je marca 1909 porušil plaz z Dolkove špice. Dopisnica ni bila odposlana.
