The only photograph showing Leopoldina together with both her children and her second husband was taken in 1932 on the terrace above the new extension of the Pečar house in the center of Kamnica. A broadly smiling Bogomir, dressed in a suit and tie, sits in the middle with his arm around a reservedly smiling Leopoldina. Between them are her children from her first marriage—seven‑year‑old Hansi seated, and ten‑year‑old Poldika standing behind. Also present are Leopoldina’s brothers, their future wives, and an unknown friend.
Standing out in the photograph is twenty‑seven‑year‑old Alois Köberl, Leopoldina’s brother, on the right with his dog. As in all his photographs, he is elegantly dressed in the latest fashion. Alois—or Ali, as everyone called him—was Leopoldina’s witness at her second wedding and the only person who stood by her in the difficult years ahead. The regional archives contain more than enough material about him—indeed, enough for a novel about pre‑war Maribor.
