V Kamniško-Savinjskih Alpah je bil pred ustanovitvijo Slovenskega planinskega društva zelo aktiven Avstrijski turistični klub, ustanovljen leta 1869. Klub je markiral številne poti: skozi Turski žleb na Skuto, iz Luč in Robanovega kota na Ojstrico ter od slapu Rinka do Okrešlja. Nemško avstrijsko planinsko društvo je zgradilo koči na Korošici in na Okrešlju.
