Forma viva 2014

jeklena pločevina / steel plates

400 m2 / 400 sq m

Javornik, Ravne na Koroškem

The Dwellings sculpture is set up in Javornik, on the lawn between the school, the kindergarten and the apartment blocks. It is made of 3-mm steel plate, cut into 220 pieces of 12 different sizes. The plates are curved by 120 degrees at the edges, which gives them structural firmness. There are holes drilled into the plates, which makes the sculpture lighter and enables the play of light. The vertical walls are connected by smaller horizontal elements, which invite the viewer to enter. The Dwellings sculpture, which extends over the area of 400 m2 and reaches even six metre in height, presents new challenges to Forma Viva and it facilitates a more genuine contact between art and the local population.
